All product information is based on manufacturer labels, official websites, and sales page descriptions. We collect and standardize this information for easy comparison.

The Meat Score (0-100) is calculated based on several factors:

• First ingredient is animal protein: +40 points
• Animal proteins in top 5 ingredients: +10 points each
• Grain-free product: +10 points
• Plant protein (pea, gluten, etc.): -10 points each

This score is a quantitative measure of ingredient composition, not an absolute quality rating.

Pet food labels often don't explicitly list carbohydrate content. We estimate it using this formula:

When ash content is not listed, we use a form-based default (dry 8.0%, wet 2.5%). This is an estimate and may differ from actual values.
